This Best Practices in Mathematics Toolkit was developed by the APEC Technical Assistance and Training Facility (TATF) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), under the 21st Century Mathematics Education for All in the APEC Region project, with the support of the U.S. Department of Education.
This toolkit describes how to attract and recruit high-caliber students into education, provide rigorous preservice preparation, provide effective mentoring and support, provide meaningful professional development, and provide career paths and incentives to retain effective teachers, drawing upon examples from:
