Comparability of Qualifications in the Health Sector within the APEC Region
From APEC HRDWG Wiki
This project sought to develop a database of academic and professional qualifications, competencies and experience-based requirements in health practice of APEC member economies and to compare them. The project showed that the qualifications and competencies of graduates in several fields coming from each economy are not comparable and that there is no standard curriculum being followed by schools in the Asia-Pacific region. In order to arrive at a mutual recognition of qualifications, a minimum set of criteria should be established and should be met by an applicant.
