US Vision of Apprenticeship
From APEC HRDWG Wiki
The U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration[1] (ETA) is committed to ensuring that apprenticeship is viewed as a critical postsecondary education and training option available through the workforce investment system for building a skilled and competitive workforce to meet employer demand.
While apprenticeship has long been a proven training model for the trades, apprenticeship is also keeping pace with the economic changes of the 21st century and offering skills development, competency- based training, and interim credentials in high growth, high demand industries, such as healthcare, biotechnology, advanced manufacturing and information technology.
U.S. Apprenticeship is an important talent development strategy and a critical postsecondary education and training opportunity through several US Apprenticeship Concepts.
